I recently finished reading Great by Choice by Jim Collins (add picture of book to this article).  This is one of the best business books I’ve read.  In the book, Collins defines SMaC Recipe:

SMaC Recipe (Specific, Methodical and Consistent): a set of durable operating practices that create a replicable and consistent formula.  It’s clear and concrete, enabling the entire enterprise to unify and organize its efforts, giving clear guidance regarding what to do and what no to do.
